[Update: 12Nov2009] The following post may already be outdated. The files featured here are way back from 2007 (the post was made July 2007). Please refer to SSS website for the updated files.
As much as I want to close the comments section, I’m keeping it open so there’s a venue where people can air what’s on their minds. Hopefully, someday, SSS will see it and take action.
By the way, I’m not from SSS or from any of its contractors.
>> The original post follows.
I had a hard time with SSS’ outdated website but since the office needs the files, i need to download it.
Download Files:
Instructions:
- Click and save R3 DISKETTE.exe into your computer.
- Click on R3 DISKETTE.exe to unzip/extract the files in c:\r3tdvb folder.
- Go to c:\r3tdvb\ install folder and click on setup.exe to start the installation of the program.
- At the set-up menu, click the Change directory button, then pick r3tdvb from the directory choices. The path should be c:\r3tdvb.
- During installation there may be files already installed on your computer, which the R3 program will install.
- In cases like these, you will be asked if you want to keep your old files or overwrite it — choose to keep your old files.
- To execute the program, press the start button and go to Programs -> SSS_R3 -> R3.
For Messages that involve missing DLL’s
Please download R3DLL and copy the missing DLL to the directory where the R3.exe resides.
“Print range is greater than paper size”
Please update the printer setup to use letter (8.5″ x 11″) instead of A4 paper size.

Ive tried to install but when I was about to click the Employer Record Maintenance, the application started not to respond by displaying a “Not Responding” message on its menu bar. And also as I clicked the R3.exe, a message box popped up displaying “The procedure entry point could not be located in the dynamic link lbrary msvcrt.dll”.
Hope to hear from you

Hi Che,
Please try downloading R3 DLL (download link is above) and put it on your R3 folder. That should take care of your missing dll.
If it still doesn't work, please post more details about your workstation. I have tested SSS R3 on Windows XP but not yet on Vista. Haven't had the chance to check that one yet.

Have you tried the SSS website? I have downloaded the files from their servers fine.
If it would be of any help, here are the SSS files I downloaded. It’s a mixed group of R3 and LMS.

The SSS has come a long way since we’re unable to even access their site. Anyhow, I already advised them of your plight. Let’s hope they see it fit to act on it.
BTW, I’m not an SSS employee and I’m not maintaining their code.

How to use thumb drive, pen drive, or simply USB as a substitute for the diskette requirement for the SSS R3:
1. Disable Floppy from the BIOS by pressing Delete before the Windows icon appear when you open the computer
2. Save the BIOS setting then insert your USB
3. Change the drive letter of your USB to A by:
a. click the Start button or the windows icon in your desktop
b. Click Control Panel> Performance and Maintenance> Administrative Tools? Computer Management> Disk Management
c. Select and right click on your USB
d. Choose> Change Drive Letter and Path
e. Change your original drive letter to A
f. Click> Ok
4.You can now use your USB in place of the diskette requirement
Note:
Error may appear but ignore it because later it will notify you for successful transfer of SSS R3 file to your USB.
